How do I set up IPTV on LG TV? To configure your LG TV for IPTV, install a professional player app (like IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate) either from the official app store or by sideloading it. LG TVs use the powerful webOS system. The LG Content Store is packed with lightweight, ultra-fast IPTV apps like Hot Player that utilize a MAC-address linking system, allowing you to easily configure the app from your phone or computer without typing long URLs on your TV.
Press the Home button on your LG Magic Remote. Navigate to the LG Content Store (or "Apps" on newer models). Click the search icon and type "Hot Player". Select the app and click Install to add it to your TV.
Open Hot Player. On the main dashboard, the app will display a unique code labeled Your MAC: (e.g., AA:BB:CC:11:22:33). Keep this screen open on your TV.
On your smartphone or computer, open your web browser and navigate to hotplayer.app. At the top of the webpage, click the Upload List button.
Enter the MAC Address from your TV. Change the Source dropdown to Xtream Code. Fill in the Server Address, Username, and Password provided by our team, and click Save.
Look back at your LG TV. Click Refresh on the Hot Player screen or restart the app entirely. The app will fetch your newly uploaded playlist and you can immediately start streaming!
Ensure you typed the MAC address exactly as it appears on the TV screen. Be careful not to mix up the letter 'O' with the number '0'.
LG TVs are notorious for having weak Wi-Fi chips on older models. If you experience buffering on 4K content, connect an Ethernet cable directly from your router to the back of your LG TV.
This is usually caused by corrupted cache data. Go to your device's Settings > Apps, find the IPTV app, and run a System Cache Clear. If the issue persists, reinstall the application.
Live TV requires a constant, uninterrupted stream of data, while VOD can buffer ahead. Ensure your device is connected via Ethernet. If you must use Wi-Fi, ensure you are on a 5GHz network close to the router.
This indicates a video codec compatibility issue. Go to the app's Player Settings and toggle the decoder between Hardware (HW) and Software (SW). HW decoding is recommended for most modern devices.
Live TV and VOD often stream from different server ports. If Live TV works but VOD doesn't, your ISP might be blocking the VOD port. Restart your router or enable a premium VPN to bypass the block. For a detailed walkthrough, view our Secure VPN Setup Guide for IPTV.
Double-check your credentials. The Xtream Codes API requires exact case-sensitivity. A very common mistake is having an invisible trailing space at the end of your username, password, or server URL.
